On Monday June 2nd The Florida Highway Patrol along with The Professional Wrecker Operators of Florida held a press conference in Miami Fl.
In 2002 PWOF teamed up with the Florida Sheriffs Association and passed the Florida Move Over law.
FHP spoke about the dangers for emergency vehicles on the side of the road, Mike Seamon, Ruth Landau, Ray Crego and Jim Jennings were in attendance for PWOF. Jim Jennings spoke about his driver that was killed on I-95 to the news stations to get the word out that Tow Trucks are in danger on the side of the road also.
PWOF has Move Over License tags that was distributed to everyone in attendance and on the podium for the News Conference.
After the TV press conference the 3 departments hit the streets looking for violators that did not move over for Tow Trucks, Police and Emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
PWOF will be working with other agencies to help educate the public about the law so they will slow down and move over for roadside safety for everyone.
